With the coming up of rains, rises many problems of water clogging and unclean surroundings. To overcome such things, downspouts were used that made flowing rainwater get collected directly from the gutter to the tank. However, downspouts do not add to the aesthetic appeal of a landscape. Downspouts are now being replaced by the copper rain chains that add to the aesthetic appeal of outdoor décor. These chains have brought a distinctive look to the outdoor with their contemporary yet elegant designs. Earlier used in Japanese society and known as 'Kusari doi', rain chain is now used as an accessory cum tool during rain, attached at the corners of the roof to direct the flow of water into the barrels. The water thus collected is used for household purposes and gardening, in turn offering a unique alternative to traditional downspouts. Copper rain chain enhances the appeal of outdoor as copper has natural resistance to rot, rust, and corrode. This lets copper withstand moisture for years of outdoor exposure making it highly durable. The rain chain can be attached with the existing rain gutter drain hole or hung on corner of the patio. This allows rainwater to flow down chains or cups from the roof. A plain gutter downspout has now been transformed into a pleasing garden accessory. Rain chain combines aesthetics and practicality that has exemplified the traditional concept of downspouts. Chains made of copper display an enthralling green patina over time naturally. A rich blue-green patina exemplifies their beauty even on dry days. This sets as an excellent example of elegance and beauty defining the outdoors. Adding beauty to the chains, people often put a ceramic or stoneware pot beneath the chain. This enhances the look of the garden area along with working as a rainwater harvesting system. Rain chains work in the same way as the downspouts; however these bring visual pleasure and delight. Being an integral part of any garden, copper rain chain produces a mesmerizing sense of motion and tranquility with its flowing water. The water splashing through the metal cups or links produces a sound pleasing to ears. This scene is also soothing to the eyes created by the rain chains. An enchanting waterfall effect is created which makes copper rain chain a highly attractive alternative to devices where aesthetics is crucial. Homeowners can avail these functional accessories at reasonable prices to make the ambience pleasant, charming and exquisite.
