Movie Synopsis: The storyline of Wake Up Sid movie is nothing new. A son who lives off his father's money, but hates the business that brings in the moolah. He parents are doting but they realize that their love has been misused and it is time to pull in the reigns. Wake Up Sid, makes you sit up and think. Think whether it is ok to not know where one is headed or should each one of us plan our life from the word go and strive for it. It is also about how parents feel when their child does not measure up with other children. How they try to cover up a child's weakness or so they perceive. Movie review: Those were the days when we roamed the streets, carefree with no idea where our paths were headed. In hindsight college days were the best. There was fun, parties, hanging around with friends, going shopping and the usual masti. Then comes the rap from the parents. What do you want to do in life? Where are you headed? Have thought of a career? It feels as if college days never happened. The charm of celebrating life slowly wears of and we get caught in a web from which it is difficult to get out. Despite the fact that the theme has been done to death in Bollywood, it reaches out and touches each and every viewer. Take the character of Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) the spoilt rich kid. It is not as if he is just exists in the director’s mind. There are millions of Sids out there who go through life as if it was their oyster. And then there is Aisha Bannerjee (Konkana Sen) -- a girl from Kolkata with a dream of making it big in Mumbai. Again, millions of people from all over the country head for Mumbai with dreams in their eyes. Anupam Kher as the father and Supriya Pathak as the doting mother who just wants to be friends with her son -- each character in the movie comes to life. What makes this movie so gripping is Sid. Ranbir Kapoor manages to hold your attention. From the onset he endears himself to the viewer. So much so that with each and every up or down that Sid goes through, so does the audience. He is brash, rude to his mother, hates to clean up his room, survives on junk food and yet somewhere down the movie Sid and you become one. That is what makes Wake up Sid movie brilliant.
