Many establishments use a scoreboard to provide visibility of the latest results to punters, clients, supporters or anyone who needs to be kept informed of the latest results. Establishments that use scoreboard could include football stadiums, rugby sporting events, cricket playing fields, tennis courts and other sporting event arenas. Scoreboard used in sporting events allows fans or spectators to keep up with the latest scores especially if they temporarily take their eyes off the game or helps newbies keep track of the latest scores if they find it hard to follow the score through watching the game alone. Scoreboard also helps players and commentators or reporters understand how the game is going. For betting or gambling premises, a scoreboard may be displayed throughout the premise such as horse or dog racing, betting shops and other types of betting places where punters can view the latest finishing positions of individual races throughout the day. Scoreboards may also provide the latest odds that are published so punters know how much the betting stake is before they put money on a bet and the odds must be displayed on a scoreboard so that punters can work out how much their stake is worth and how much they could potentially win. Due to the importance of a scoreboard to all attending or working at the event, the scoreboard must be highly visible and in prominent and convenient places. Therefore an outdoor scoreboard will most likely be made from LED lights so that sun glare or heavy rain weather conditions does not affect the readability of the scoreboard. Outdoor scoreboard will be large enough in depth and width and bright enough so that the results can be viewed from all angles whether spectators are sat at the other end of the stadium or on the side. Scoreboard may also display clocks and timers which is useful for timed matches so that spectators know how much time is left before the end of the game. Text on the scoreboard should be flexible enough to display any text and easy to update for ever changing away team names.
