Each set is slightly tight and causes the teeth to shift to a straightened position. These are more expensive than the standard metal type, but they are nice because they are hard to see. This is the number one type that adults choose to have. Most adults do not want to be walking around with metal brackets and wires in their mouths because this can be embarrassing. Instead, they choose this type. It offers the same results, but it uses different materials to do it. A much less common option is called lingual braces. These are placed on the backsides of a person's teeth, but they use the same material as standard braces. They are hidden on the backs of the teeth, and this is another type that is common for adults.
