Break-ins are not an unusual occurrence nowadays. This is the reason why people are setting up security alarms not only on business establishments but in their homes as well. With this, the number of security officers in the security industry has grown and will continually grow in the years to come. A security officer is someone who is paid to protect property, assets and or people in an assigned area. They are also expected to report unusual or suspicious activities to either their control room or to police officer’s for follow-up. Their duties include but may not be limited to patrolling assigned areas, checking for fire, vandalism or suspicious activities or persons and or making sure building are locked and is intruder free. These security officers use an alarm response docket or Security Officer Incident Report Note to input their reports which includes job or site details. They need to submit their reports especially when the alarm is triggered to provide the necessary information to their client and or to their control room. This report however is based on the security officer’s written report. But a new mobile security app is due for release at iTunes on September 17th and the Android Market on the 1st of November. Guard Buddy is a mobile security app at its best. Not only is it cost effective but you can do away with the multiple copies and the stationary since everything is saved and done on the mobile app. guard buddy has detailed information about job and site details which can be entered manually or can be chosen from your mobiles contact information. And if ever directions are needed for the job site, “Get Directions” will pop-up using Google maps to provide street level directions for the patrolling security officer. Guard Buddy also has the ability to add up to 5 scene photos and can have a short description entered by the security officer for further detailed information. Once the report is completed, it can be emailed as an automatically compiled, easy to read PDF attachment directly from your mobile app. A copy of all completed jobs are saved in “ClosedJobs”, here you can reopen the reports to read them and also resend single or multiple reports via email again. In cases when the report is interrupted by a phone call, Guard Buddy will automatically store the information and save it as an open job. To edit this report, you can just click applicable job from “Open Jobs” and continue with the report.
