According to Chelsea FC news sources, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have had a €70 million bid rejected for Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao. The Colombian striker scored 24 league goals last season for his Spanish club and became the first player to score 36 goals in all competitions in his debut season, a new club record. More than financially stable Anzhi Makhachkala are not the only team interested in the 26-year-old however, with Chelsea reportedly looking to add to their attack currently having only Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge as clear strikers and wanting to give manager Roberto Di Matteo more options. Falcao has begun the new season of La Liga in superb form having scored three times in just two games and he also performed impressively in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea which Atletico won 4-1 thanks to his sensational hat-trick. It looks like Falcao won't be joining the likes of Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto at Anzhi Makhachkala anytime soon though, as with Atletico rejecting the €70 million bid, it suggests he is not for sale to them or any other team interested. Madrid bought Falcao for around €40 million using in part the money they received from the sale of Sergio Aguero to Manchester City. Now, with Aguero having already been pried away from the club they look set to try to hold on to their star man regardless of the price. Chelsea could lose Oriol Romeu to Valencia according to reports in the Spanish press. The 20-year-old midfielder impressed on arrival at Stamford Bridge but has hardly played under new manager Roberto Di Matteo, prompting interest from the Spanish club. Spanish sports paper Super Deporte claim that Valencia sent scouts to watch Romeu, who unfortunately for them was an unused substitute in last night's 6-0 thrashing of Croatia U21s, with a view to making a €5m move for the player. However such a fee would surely be seen as derisory by the London club, particularly as the midfielder is in line for more playing time, following Raul Meireles' sale to Fenerbahce and Michael Essien's loan to Real Madrid. Following the recent comments from Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini stating that he wants to leave Everton in January, it has naturally alerted some of the biggest football clubs in the world. Fellaini is a very sought after player and although he did make a half-hearted attempt to play down the comments via his Twitter account, it is very clear for all to see that he wants out of Everton. Chelsea are immediate front runners for his signature, having been scouting the 25-year-old for the last two years, making a number of enquiries to open talks with the player, which were all rejected by Everton. Toffees' manager David Moyes could well be ready to listen to offers as it now seems inevitable that his superstar midfielder will be leaving the club. The latest crazy rumor doing the rounds is that Arsenal are lining up a sensational bid to bring Chelsea legend Didier Drogba back to London. Chelsea News sources report the Gunners want to prise Drogba away from Shanghai Shenhua. The Gunners are desperate to find a proven scorer to replace Robin van Persie and they have made enquiries with the Chinese club to see if there is a way of bringing the striker, 34, back to London. The Gunners are aware of internal upheaval at Shanghai where Drogba and ex-Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka have been caught up in a boardroom power struggle. Drogba — believed to be on £200,000 a week — had been linked with a shock switch to Liverpool. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who originally took the hitman to Stamford Bridge in 2004, also kept an eye on the Ivorian during the summer transfer window.
