If you think that a photographer who has at least six hundred flower pictures in his album is an expert in capturing the flowers then it’s untrue. As some photographers are aware of the common blooms but when it comes to capturing the exotic flowers they get lost. People get attracted to flowers with birds, butterflies and moths etc. It’s just a beautiful seduction that is loved by all. So how is that we can take good flower pictures as one needs to focus on certain aspects of the bloom. When you capture a bloom then it would stand out naturally. This is where the focal point of your picture would be focused and of it is a nice and calm day and if the flowers won’t be blooming and weaving then it would come out as a great picture. It is important to use maximum depth of the field and maximum depth usually means longer exposure at times and the movement of the flowers should be considered. There are some blooms that look better when they are captured from close proximity and in this case you can use the micro settings on your lens. So if the micro setting is not an option then use the short zoom lens. This would allow you to get a tight grasp on the individual bloom. The effects of the picture would vary from picture to picture and the effects of the picture would differ from picture to picture. There are no absolute rules when it comes to photographing so go with what works the best. So it is always best to avoid subjects that are strongly back lit. Some can accept the backlighting but still too much back light would give a washed out look to your pictures. Take shots from different distances and use different depth of field settings. Walk around the subjects and look at it from different angles so that you can get a fair idea of the pictures. While photographing flowers if you have the right perspective then everything would look good. You can overcome the strong backlighting by injecting backdrop to it. The backdrop can be anything and it will surely look good in the picture. If you use a piece of matte black paper or matting material then it would produce really dramatic effects to it. If you use a black background then it would surely separate the flower from its background. Use a translucent white backdrop as it would soften and diffuse the light.
