On June 27, 1880, Helen Keller’s birth made her parents delighted. She was a health and intelligent child. When she was only six months, she could say "tea" in the sink and when she was one year old, she could walk on the compressed stone. With flowers in her home’s yard blossoming beautifully and birds singing sweetly, curious Helen happily appreciated landscaping stone went through the 19 months of her beginning life. But wonderful time was always short, when she was one and a half years, Helen suddenly suffered from high fever and the doctor diagnosed the illness as acute gastric congestion and announced death however, After several days Helen’s fever was gone miraculously, but when she opened her eyes, he saw nothing but darkness, which gave her a sense of deep fear and sadness. From then on, she began to live in dark and silent world. Because she was deaf and blind, Helen was in double loneliness. As she grew older, her wishes to express her thoughts and feelings become so intense that several drab gestures couldn’t satisfy her. Every time when other people did not understand her meaning, she would get angry. What was worse, the desperate feeling of being not able to communicate with others let her madly kick, cry and roll on the ground until she became exhausted. Before she was 7 years old, Helen was a spoiled tempestuous and capricious little girl. In March 1887, Annie Sullivan came to Helen's home, and that day became the important day of Helen’s life, for she changed Helen’s life completely. Reading is Helen's greatest pleasure, so she acquired knowledge and experienced the world eagerly. Annie Sullivan helped her translate many books that weren’t brailled into sign language. When the teacher's hand was too tired to use teaching tools, Helen even tried to touch the block by her own hand. Nevertheless, her physical defects could not defeat her dauntless heart. Small Helen announced that she would be admitted to Harvard University and matched with normal girls. When she was 19 years old, Helen was admitted to Radcliffe College of Harvard University. At university, many teaching materials on the exhibitions were not brailled, so she had to rely on others to spell the contents on her hand and spent more time in previewing lessons after class. Eventually, the long-term hard study helped her master a vast amount of knowledge and have super memory, so she gradually had the power to change her fate. "The world is wonderful, and even darkness and silence is also so. No matter what kind of environment you are in, you should learn to satisfy.” Helen said. In 1936, the 66 - year - old Annie Sullivan forever left Helen and the world, so Helen must face the reality alone. Whenever she felt depressed, there was always a voice resounding, "Helen, the teacher doesn't like the way you are." This kind whisper supported Helen to endure pain and reconstruct her life. "Although my body isn’t free, my heart is free." She said. On June 1, 1968 in the afternoon, Helen Keller was 87 years old and died in the dream quietly.
