I do not know have you play the cool gadget which is Plasma Ball and do you remember those Ball things you used to play with when killing time at The Sharper Image back in the 1990s? You know the ones that shot bolts of electricity towards your fingertips when you touched the glass on the outside? How about a wristwatch that could do the same thing? A designer going simply by the name of Patrick has come up with this concept for a watch that tells time using the same sort of colorful sparks you get in those Tesla-coil inspired plasma balls. A Plasma Ball or plasma lamp (also called plasma ball, dome, sphere, tube or orb, depending on shape), is (usually) a clear glass orb filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the sphere. Plasma filaments extend from the inner electrode to the outer glass insulator, giving the appearance of multiple constant beams of colored light (see corona discharge and electric glow discharge). Plasma Ball was most popular as novelty items in the 1980s, In fact nowadays this cool gadget or other Halloween Pumpkin Light also popular especial with the Halloween festival. That is a cool little plasma ball that someone hacked together with a cold cathode and a nixie tube. This actually changes the state of the gas inside the nixie tube into plasma, the fourth state of matter with a higher energy level than that of a gas. There is a full technical description in the link, although be warned should you try this Plasma Ball. And I believe what’s going on is that he’s using electrical current to excite the particles of Neon gas to a point where it changes states of matter. The cool part is that it’s done in a vacuum. The 2012 Halloween Gadgets is always making people like and happy to buy it to prepare to the Halloween festival. Making a plasma ball sounds and looks pretty cool and all, but what would the purpose of creating one be? Just to observe an element in another state of matter, or see it light up a given area? I would be more impressed if someone was able to make this thing perform some type of action that was in any way beneficial, like lighting a room with a lower energy input then a standard light bulb, or it is simple to make happy with the interesting festival especial at night.
