Not surprisingly, many women are suffering from depression due to their physical appearance right after they gave birth. They have given birth several weeks ago but they seem to look 6 months pregnant. This drives most women to try the latest fad in the society just to get their pre-baby body. While some women undergo surgeries just to look and feel good, there are others who resort to natural ways of overcoming post-baby blues and feel good about themselves once again.

Right after childbirth, women have to deal with tremendous adjustments especially for new mothers. Women have to deal with stress and pressures of caring for the baby. Over time, women begin to feel better and they start to get used with the responsibilities and routines associated with being a mother.

At times, baby blues are not inevitable to most new moms. This is pretty normal due to the surge of hormones which cause stress and anxiety in women. Don't be too hard on yourself and discuss your feelings with your partner or doctor immediately. Baby blues are normally caused by lack of sleep, fatigue and significant drop in the level of progesterone and estrogen levels. Here are the steps on how to overcome baby blues naturally.

Maintaining A Healthy Diet In their desire to achieve a sexy and attractive body again, many women resort to crash diet. This is never recommended especially when you are breastfeeding. Instead of succumbing to crash diet, why don't you take a healthy and balanced breastfeeding diet composed of nutrients which are beneficial to you and your baby's body?

Take larger bulks of food that contain low calories and fats such as steamed veggies, fruits, raw veggies and whole grains. Make sure that your diet contains sufficient amount of proteins such as eggs, fish and lean meats. Also, ensure that your diet has at least 5 servings of calcium especially when the baby is breastfed.

Exercise To Achieve The Pre-Baby Body The benefits of exercising go beyond losing significant amount of pregnancy weight. Being healthy and fit helps in preventing baby blues and ward off feelings of disappointment, depression and sadness. Aside from promoting healing and stronger bones and muscles, exercise also helps in increasing your energy level to balance out stress and sleep deprivation which motherhood bring about. Also, it helps in boosting your mood and regulating your hormones. Exercise is good for the body but never overdo it for the first few months.

When Should You Start Doing Exercise? Always ask your health doctor about the best time to engage in some exercise. Never jump instantly into the same duration and intensity of exercise which you used to do prior to pregnancy. Listen to your body and if you think it is now ready for exercise, then you begin cutting some slack. Start with small and simple exercises and later on, you can begin doing exercise to lose your belly fat. You can do some modified push-ups at home or perhaps you can take a walk at the park with your baby to start off.

If you are still lying in bed, you can still do some exercise such as pelvic tilts, neck and shoulder stretches and Kegels. Kegel exercises are beneficial in reducing incontinence and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. Later on, you can try some strengthening moves for the pelvic muscles, lower back and abs. After 6-8 weeks, as long as you are cleared by your doctor, you can resume your pre-baby exercise for a mild to moderate level only.

If you have undergone a caesarean section, you can still do some exercises after delivery. These exercises include deep breathing, shoulder and neck stretches, pulling stomach muscles inward and Kegels. Later on, you can do some light walking and strengthening exercises for the pelvic muscles and lower back. After 8-10 weeks, you can do some light to moderate exercise as approved by your doctor.

Get As Much Sleep And Rest As You Can When the baby sleeps, you sleep. Sleep deprivation is very normal to women who have recently given birth. Try to get as much sleep as you can to balance stress and fatigue. Getting adequate amount of sleep and relaxation helps in overcoming baby blues. When left unaddressed, baby blues can lead to post partum depression which may cause guilt, anxiety, sadness and mood swings.
