What is a ghostwriter or ghostwriting? This is when someone who needs to write a book, ebook, articles, or web content hires a specialized or experienced writer to do the writing on their behalf and they take credit for the completed project. Why would the writer want to that, you may think? Well, writers who love to write don't mind sharing the credit with someone else as long as they are being paid for their work. If a writer is going to put ego in front of their work, then they are in the wrong business. Where do you find a ghostwriter? Ghostwriters sometimes hang out in writing forums, have their own website or blog, registered members of websites like elance.com and guru.com. You have to be very intuitive as a business owner or someone looking to find a ghostwriter because there are a lot of "want to-be's" hanging around the Internet to waster your valuable time. Therefore, it is best to do a pre-screening. Ask for references, samples and a working resume. The writer must have published articles or books that have been self-published or published books that they have ghostwritten. A ghostwriter must be someone who is passionate about what they do. It must be a "first love," affair with their talent. This is not someone who is trying to earn money by writing part time. No, you need a committed writer who will stick with the project to the end. I now introduce myself as a full-time ghostwriter, who is in love with the whole concept of writing and has the expert abilities to tackle any project that deals with books, ebooks, articles, forum posts, press release and blogs. Most of my writing is ghostwriting. I enter into a contract with a client and I commit to the project until the expected end. I have a lot of clients who are repeat customers who love my work. I am very loyal and motivated about my talent. I have published ebooks for myself and I am currently writing my own novel about my life's experiences. If I cannot handle a project in a set deadline, I will let the client know and then if necessary, we can work something out. Otherwise, I will turn down the project. Some ghostwriters think only about the "money," and take on writing assignments that they cannot handle only to disappoint the client. If money is all a writer thinks about, then they are in the wrong business. Writing should be something they would do even if they did not get paid for it. In doing so, they would have reached the understanding that they are fulfilling their purpose and passion in life. This is where I find myself in life. I am exactly where I am supposed to be and this was what I was born to do. I am so fully sold out to my writing that I can boldly write this article and be fearless in publishing it online. My expectations are high for myself and my desire is to help others who want to be ghostwriters. Believe in yourself if you want to be a successful and full time writer. You can do it. Don't let your ego get in the way. This is not all about money, but it is an adventure and a business model of helping others to reach their goals as well.
