Day dreaming during office hours –is it really a crime? Tired from work, stressed becauseof the mountain of paper works you needed to accomplish in a nick of time, who is not immune from that crime? Breaking down the process of day dreaming would start with the simple reminiscence of the past, a flashback of yesterday, or an introspection of tomorrow. What makes it a crime? Day dreaming would simply mean walking wide awake in Milky Way, where stars are inarguably at reach though far. Sounds strange right? Exactly! That what makes it a crime! We could simply excuse ourselves from this fantasy, but the truth is too mundane –it is still a criminal waste of time. Disregard the catatonic face –it is the escape from reality that causes your liability. That is how people deal with stress and work pressure –day dream. Ask your office mate about the project proposals and he would say: “Orange chicken? I love to!” Tell your secretary to make a phone call to the information counter she would reply: “I was there last night, but you didn’t get to taste my Buritos!”What do you think these guys need? Food? Office massage? If day dreaming is a crime make a provision out of it, or like write our own set of Ten Commandments that would make people despise day dreaming. Why don’t we write: Though shall not day dream when paid extra, or though shall not day dream if it exceeds two to three minutes. Imagine a big tarp on your office wall of these Ten Commandments - would it make a healthy working environment? Since work can be robotic sometimes, employees would come up with numerous ways to make working more fun, but day dreaming is not included –for it is not legal. One can play music while working on the financial reports; another person would drownhim/herself with a tongue-melting blonde roast coffee with a sweet cinnamon roll while he/she posts some meeting schedules. While these things might sound not that bad, day dreaming is truly an exemption. Some people tend to make connections through day dreaming. Whether it be far away, next door, right behind you, people seem to smile and frown at a time. Is it by impulse? Is it contagious? No it is not! Maybe, they just have something in common, or they both lack of something –rejuvenation.
