Another high end Samsung slide phone. Brushed steel and a smartphone interface. Mobile phone manufacturer Samsung have this week announced yet another mobile phone to their collection of mobile phones. Now slide phones are what Samsung do best – slim, stylish mobile phones with good specifications, and thankfully the Samsung L870 is no exception to the rule. With 3G/HSDPA and at just 13.5 mm thin it seems that good things do indeed come in small packages. The Samsung L870 is a great looking slide phone with a brushed steel appearance to it, not unlike the LG Shine of a while back, thankfully the Samsung L870 has much better specifications and prospects. The most interesting thing that the new Samsung L870 has to offer is the same Symbian OS and user interface as all the Nokia N-series mobiles, it is also first Symbian smartphone to have the Safari mobile web browser on it – Safari is the web browser that the Apple iPhone has (although we are not sure at the moment if it will be exactly the same as the iPhone’s browser). Packed into the brushed metal outer casing is a 3.15 megapixel camera plus the usual secondary VGA camera for videocalling purposes, a media player for your music and videos, FM Radio, Bluetooth and USB connection and an internal memory of 100MB (expandable by microSD card up to 4GB). The Samsung L870 is due for release in August of this year, and will suit Nokia N-Series fans who are looking for a change, or Samsung fans who are simply looking for an upgrade. There is no information at present on the cost of the Samsung L870. This and many other articles on mobile phones and the latest mobile phone deals was written by John Gray.
