Curtis is an example of success in local business. According to Curtis Kligora, he didn’t always know he would be an entrepreneur. He studied Business Administration in college, and did well in his classes. College is a great time to try out new things and learn new skills. In his studies, Curtis learned the tools for good business management: finance, human resources, business planning, etc. Outside the classroom, he made friends who are still his collaborators, neighbors, and colleagues. He also got involved in campus organizations, volunteering his time and ideas. The value of community involvement has followed Curtis ever since, and is one secret to his success. He advises, “You have to know the community to know what business will succeed. Make sure your idea will bring something valuable to the area. How can you know what people will buy if you don’t know any of the people around you?” Once he had the idea and the opportunity, Curtis Kligora got some help to keep his businesses running well. He teamed up with his brother at the restaurant, and hired a head trainer to keep service at the farm up to par. This is another of his main tips for success: “One person can’t do everything. Get someone you trust to work with you.
