You should also think about the cost of the phone in relation to your contract. Although it would equate to an expensive outlay in the first month of your contract, paying off a portion of the cost of your phone (or even all of it) when you take out a contract for a new phone can save you money in the long run. If you take out a contract that says the phone is ‘free’ it simply means that you won’t have to pay an initial charge for the phone when you take it out, but you will have to pay for it in instalments along with your usage.
