IRVINE, CA--May 10, 2012: The Transportation Corridor Agencies(TCA) today announced the launch of a free mobile phone app itcreated for download on the iPhone and Android. The app is thefirst of its kind in the nation, allowing FasTrak accountholdersaccess to the same account and customer service features they findon The Toll Roads' website. "We are also looking forward to feedback from our FasTrakcustomers on how the app has made it quicker and more convenientfor them to manage their accounts, anytime and anywhere from theirsmart phone." FasTrak is a pre-paid electronic toll collection system that allowsdrivers to pay tolls automatically while traveling at highwayspeeds through designated lanes; it is the one and only electronictoll collection system used in California. TCA operates The TollRoads, the largest network of toll roads in the state, comprised ofthe 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads in Orange County, Calif. The new mobile app offers FasTrak account holders complete accessto their accounts wirelessly over the Internet from theirsmartphones.
Users simply download the free app onto their iPhoneor Android phone and, from there, can view their account balanceand make payments; edit account information; add or removevehicles; view and request transponders; plan their trip on TheToll Roads and much more. "We constantly strive to improve customer service. So, we'reexcited to offer our patrons an easier way to access and managetheir FasTrak accounts. With this app, patrons can even add andremove rental vehicles from their accounts," said Joyce Hill,deputy director of Customer Service.
"This app is the first of itskind. And, we're confident it will make our drivers' experiencewith The Toll Roads even more convenient." To download the free app, visit the iPhone App Store or AndroidGoogle Play Store and search for "FasTrak" or "The Toll Roads."Then, FasTrak accountholders can access their accounts with thesame user ID and password used to login on The Toll Roads' website. The new mobile app is another important first for the Toll Roads inimproving customer service. The Transportation CorridorAgencies/The Toll Roads developed the technology behind FasTrak.TCA has 409,500 FasTrak accounts and 793,500 FasTrak transpondersin circulation.
"We are proud to continue to set the standards that other statetolling agencies now follow," said Tom Margro, chief executiveofficer. "We are also looking forward to feedback from our FasTrakcustomers on how the app has made it quicker and more convenientfor them to manage their accounts, anytime and anywhere from theirsmart phone." The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) are two joint powers authorities formed by the Californialegislature in 1986 to plan, finance, construct and operate OrangeCounty's 67-mile public toll road system. Fifty-one miles of thesystem are complete, including the 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads.Elected officials from surrounding cities and county supervisorialdistricts are appointed to serve on each agency's board ofdirectors. Public oversight ensures that the interests of localcommunities and drivers are served and that TCA continues to meetthe region's growing need for congestion-free transportationalternatives.
