Operating System Running on the Android operating system, consumers with experience running other devices utilizing Android will have some level of familiarity with how the OS works. Size It's 7.5" long and 4.7" wide. This is a bit smaller than some other tablets and similar in size to other versions of the Kindle. If you're looking to carry your tablet around with you, the smaller size of the Kindle Fire may be an advantage over other larger tablets like the iPad. For women, the Kindle Fire will fit nicely in larger purses or it can simply be carried like a small book if necessary. Amazon Since it's sold by Amazon, consumers know that they can trust the company that they'll be buying from. With Amazon being one of the largest retailers online, consumers can be comfortable knowing they'll get quality customer service if an online business that many of us have used for other online transactions. Other firms like Apple also offer excellent customer service, but if you're looking at some tablets that are being offered by small unknown companies, consumers should be careful before they make a purchase and determine of the product being offered will perform as advertised. Compatibility With Other Devices With the number of Android based smartphones on the market, considering the Kindle Fire as your tablet of choice just means that it will be another extension to the programs you are probably already familiar with. If you use Gmail for your email or the Google Calendar software, both of which are offered online for free, you will easily be able to sync your data between your desktop email and calendar, you're smartphone and the Kindle Fire if you choose to go with this as your tablet.
