Everyone knows about the dangerous and cruel practices exercised on young children in the underground world of Mumbai in order to make their begging more profitable. Severe physical mutilation is common. But even those children that remain unharmed by criminal organizations still suffer heavily from the life on the street that they are forced to live. They sleep under ragged mosquito-nets on the hard ground in front of local train stations. Their scarce dinners cooked on an open fire at the side of the road while a few meters away gigantic shopping malls are under construction. Many a mother sends their children out for begging because she does not see any better perspective for them. But there are better perspectives. A few rupees, euros, or dollars can make all the difference to enable these children to start a new and better life. The children will know that somebody apart from their own family actually cares for them.
