The Free Pen Is Dead - The Rise of T-Shirts and Wearable Promotions

Business,Humor,Internet
When it comes to company promotions, many businesses tend to offer free merchandise with their logo emblazoned on the side. This traditionally takes the form of cheap pens or post-it notes. While this used to help get the word out about your business, it just isn't doing it anymore. Fewer and fewer people are using those spare pens and notepads and are turning instead to mobile planner apps in smartphones. Think about it, do you consider a business any more valuable if you get a free pen from them? I didn't think so. Promotional products are evolving to fit into this new society. What some leading edge businesses and organizations have decided to do is switch to wearable promotional products.

The free pen is dead and wearable branding is the future. Everyone loves a free t-shirt. Even if they don't use your products, they will still wear the shirt from time to time. This makes your business or product far more visible by being printed on someone's clothes rather than on some knickknack in their pocket. People also tend to hold onto clothes for years, giving your advertisements longevity. This continued advertising more than makes up for the initial cost of buying screen printed t-shirts or the unique compressed t-shirt. The financial returns on the free advertising wearable promotions generate for years on every piece of clothing printed can be astronomical.

Free pens aren't really seen as cool or hip either, regardless of being free, they just seem cheap. Even when offering pens or pencils, you will likely be turned down. When it comes to clothing however, no one ever turns it down. If your brand is popular enough, people will even pay to have a shirt with your business on it. Coca Cola and Pepsi shirts are found literally everywhere. Popular restaurants, bars, and stores in a city can easily sell promotional products. With a t-shirt it is almost a guarantee that your customers will wear your logo often. Plus, if you are decide to sell your branded products, then you are actually making money on advertising your business! What better business strategy is there?

One of the best things about branded clothing is essentially free advertising. Take a billboard for example. You can buy advertising for a month, but once that month is over the advertising stops. Having 100 people wearing and promoting your business on their t-shirt or printed hat around the city gives much more value for your advertising dollars. These people will walk around your town showing your business off in multiple places, while the billboard just sits there. Not only this, but when you see someone you know wearing a shop or company logo on their shirt, you can ask them about it. Not only is brand recognition spread, but also everyone who wears it can give a first hand review of your business. Customer feedback is a thousand times more effective than paid adverts, and coming from a friend just amplifies it. Nothing expands a business more than pure word of mouth.

Social networking is the key to success and is the new currency. Many times the value of a new product can be judged by the amount of Facebook likes it receives. This is the new way to connect to the customer. If your promotional products are posted on Facebook or tweeted about on Twitter enough, then your company logo can go viral, creating overnight success. The primary tool used on Facebook is the gallery and photo sharing with friends. Getting in on the world's largest social network is a must. Almost everyone and their grandma (literally) has some type of account on a social network and they check it regularly. Photos of friends and parties are uploaded constantly. If a person is wearing your custom screen printed t-shirt with your logo, then you get free direct advertising to all of their friends. Once again you get free first person advertising! Just the simple act of people connecting a business to their friends will increase a shop's favorability.

You may think ordering wearable promotions is difficult. But getting your own custom screen printed t-shirts, compressed t-shirts, digital hats or custom footwear is a far simpler process than other targeted marketing. You can sell your custom clothing or you can hand them out for free, but be sure to have extras on-hand because they'll be swept up quickly. With the unique compressed t-shirt, a custom full-color Insert card is added to the package, adding double the promotional impact. There are so many ways that clothing can be used you really have to adjust it to your own personal business strategy. Just remember that expanding your company in this way isn't as hard as it sounds, and the friendly team at TeeCompressed.com can walk you through every step of the way.
