Make your dinner special with rich Indian dinner recipes. The main course is incomplete unless it has a variety of chapatti, rice and paratha to accompany other dinner recipes. Try this Jammu special paratha Jammu k aloo anardana paratha and add different flavors of Indian in your dinner recipes. This diwali plans a special dinner with anardana paratha and dal makhani for yopur special guests. The exotic flavors of these typical Indian dishes will surely satiate your taste buds with its unique taste.

Jammu k aloo anardana paratha

Ingredients: •Potatoes,boiled and mashed 2 medium •Pomegranate seeds (anardana),roasted and powered 1 teaspoon •Whole wheat flour 2 cups •Salt to taste •Milk 2 tablespoons •Yogurt 2 tablespoons •Onion ,chopped 1/2 medium •Red chilli powder 1/2 tablespoon •Green chillies,chopped 2 •Chaat masala 1 teaspoon •Fresh coriander leaves bunch 1/4 medium

Method

1. Take the whole wheat flour in a bowl, add salt, milk, yogurt, water and knead into a soft dough.

2. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for fifteen minutes. Divide the dough into eight portions.

3. Add onion, salt, red chili powder, green chillies , roasted anardana powder, chat masala, coriander leaves in a mashed potatoes and mix it well

4. Divide into eight portions. Roll out each portion of the dough into a small puri, place one portion of potato stuffing in the center, gather in the edges and roll out into a ball.

5. Further roll into a parantha.

6. Roast it on the tawa with ghee, roast it till both side get light golden color.

7. Serve hot.

Dal Makhani

•Whole black gram (sabut urad) 1/2 cup •Red kidney beans (rajma) 2 tablespoons •Salt to taste •Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon •Ginger,chopped 2 inch piece •Butter 3 tablespoons •Oil 1 tablespoon •Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon •Garlic,chopped 6 cloves •Onion ,chopped 1 large •Green chillies,slit 2 •Tomatoes,chopped 2 medium •Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

Method

1. Pick, wash and soak sabut urad and rajma overnight in three cups of water.

2. Drain. Pressure cook sabut urad and rajma in three cups of water with salt and half the red chilli powder for 5 to 10 minutes. Cook it till the rajma becomes soft

3. Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds.

4. Wait till cumin seeds splutter and then add ginger, garlic and onion and sauté till golden. Add slit green chillies, tomatoes and sauté on high heat.

5. Add the remaining red chilli powder and sauté till the tomatoes are reduced to a pulp. Add the cooked dal and rajma along with the cooking liquour.

6. Add some water if the mixture is too thick. Add garam masala powder and salt to taste. Simmer on low heat till the dals are totally soft and well cooked. Serve hot.
