Every writer wants to find more time to write. A few stolen moments to put words to paper and get your tales out of your head. The world is so hectic today and time is a hot commodity for most people. Writers are no exception. We write in the early morning hours, during breaks at work, and even before we go to bed. Every moment we can find to write is wonderful. For some writers, a sporadic writing time is enough. But for the rest of us finding a period of time we can call ours to plot, plan, and write would be heavenly. We would revel in having a set time for our craft, but where do we find these elusive moments? Start off by keeping track of your activities each day for a week. Write down what you do from the moment you wake up until you go to bed. Include your work time, breaks and lunch time activities. You do not have to write down every minute detail, but you will want to monitor the things that take you fifteen minutes or longer should be logged. When a week has passed, look at your time logs. You should have a good idea where your time goes. Look for where you had free time. See if you can juggle your schedule to have a block of time you can use for your writing. Once you know what your schedule is like, think about your writing moods. Do you like to write in the morning, afternoon, or evenings? Compare your optimum writing times with your schedule. Is there time open during the times you feel most creative? Can you wake up earlier to write, or stay up later? Or do you have to find your writing time within the confines of your day? Now, think about how long you are comfortable writing. Do you prefer to write for short jaunts, fifteen or thirty minutes at a time? Or do you need longer time periods, over an hour at a time? Look back at your week's worth of time monitoring. Can you rearrange it to give yourself your optimum writing time and length? Can you come close? When you find the time that works the best for you, schedule it into your calendar. Just trying to write during that time each day will not work. You need to make sure you do not schedule any other appointments during your writing time. That is when you want to write. Treat your writing just like you treat anything important. You would not dream of skipping a doctor's appointment you had on your schedule. So do not skip an appointment to spend some quality time with your writing. Do that and you will always have the time to write. essay papers to buy
