The human body is complex in structure as it contains various systems to perform different functions to survive and to be in good health. Some parts are complex in structure as breasts because they are made up of different tissues and perform different functions as well. This part of the body is prone to change at different stages of life and during these changes some unusual changes take place as well that may lead to the development of breast cancer that is a dangerous disease to take the life of a woman. How to Take Care of Breasts? There are different ways to take care of breasts so that unusual changes can be diagnosed as they take place and they don’t lead to the severe health conditions such as breast cancer that is a common threat to women around the world. Women wish to take good care of breasts so they remain attractive throughout the life as a woman without breasts is no more attractive. Different methods are advised to women for taking care of the breasts Self Breast Examination Self breast examination is the something that enables women to know their breasts in detail such as knowledge about the size, shape, contour, skin type and condition, position of nipple, overall appearance etc so that the changes can be distinguished easily when they are observed during self examination. Self examination is not difficult to perform as it does not include any diagnostic or laboratory test and it is not replacement of any medical test, however it helps to enlighten breast awareness. The purpose to perform it is just to stay in touch with breasts so that unusual changes can be detected at right time when they can be treated easily by available treatments. No standard method is there to perform self examination as it is a personal choice so a woman can perform it as per her convenience, but the basic purpose must be obtained that is to look for the unusual changes that may lead to that stage of breast cancer when it can’t be treated at all. It is manual inspection o breasts by using finger pads and palms of hands to feel the breast tissues from whole of the breast by using different levels of pressure such as low, medium and firm pressure. Manual inspection aims to locate the lumps and swelling in different parts of the breast, although most of the lumps are proved to be benign like 8 out of 10 are non cancerous or benign lumps, but without proper investigation it is not possible to decide whether the lump is cancerous or non cancerous. Clinical Examination Clinical examination is the examination of the breasts by your doctor to find out the abnormal changes that can be due to breast cancer. It is physical examination and normally advised annually, but it can be scheduled twice, thrice or more according to the health conditions of a woman. Mammograms It is an X-ray of breast to locate anomalies such as suspicious lumps well before you can feel it during self examination. It is recommended to women when they reach 40 they should go for mammograms because the probability to be affected by this cancer increases as women age.
