There are many important issues surrounding property rentals and it will be far more beneficial to you in the long-term if you ask questions upfront before you decide on your complete property management rental company and hand over the keys to your most valuable asset. Here are some suggestions on what areas to look at if you are new to this and are considering renting your property and becoming a landlord.

Efficiency and Experience Some good advice here would be: don't get caught up looking for a cheap option when considering renting your property. Market Knowledge and Understanding When you hand over your property for rental you want an assurance that the property representative has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the current residential market. Sit down and discuss details like supply and demand, issues the market is currently experiencing and what you can realistically expect to receive in today's marketplace. An experienced professional will provide all these details to give you the confidence that your property is being handled with integrity and professionalism.

Legal Knowledge We all know things can go wrong - and they usually do - especially where people are involved! So we are dealing not only with financial investment but also an emotional investment. Any dispute over property involves lawyers and large amounts of legal fees... Availability If you are a landlord and you manage your own tenanted properties, you will often be plagued with tenants calling you at odd times of the day and night when things go wrong - they want it fixed now - and rightly so. Everyone leads busy lives these days and often it is not convenient for you to drop everything and rush over to your property to see what needs to be fixed. Likewise, if you are on holiday you don't really want to ask your friends or family to look after your property in your absence.
