Simplifies home or shop network control required to bring aboutsmart homes and communities Tokyo, May 15, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu today announced theimmediate release of SSPF v01 ("smart sensing platform"),software that facilitates the construction of energy-managementsystems for homes and shops by simplifying the operation of networkcontrols for power-related devices, such as appliances and solarpanels, that are connected in a network. This software uses a proprietary architecture developed at Fujitsuthat efficiently ties together numerous network standards involvedin collecting data from the home or building, such as power-usagelevels, and controlling household appliances, solar panels andother power-related equipment, even though their specificationsoften vary from vendor to vendor. The result is a process ofdeveloping energy-management systems for the smart-home andsmart-community market that is dramatically more efficient. In recent years, a variety of low-energy devices, such as smartappliances that control power consumption, and energy-storagedevices, such as solar panels, fuelcells, and fixed storagebatteries, have become increasingly common in homes and shops aswell as other buildings in the community. Tying together thesedevices and ICT would promote the aim of energy conservation withthe expansion of the smart homemarket. Residences would be able tovisualize their power usage volumes, which can guide behavior toconserve energy, and it is envisioned that new services wouldemerge to optimize control over energy usage and improve thecomfort of living spaces.
