Every woman desires to look attractive and charming and breasts play a vital role to make a woman charming and attractive as it is the most important part of the body and is designed to perform various functions such as it is important in sex, breastfeeding etc so any unusual change in this part of the body can affect the whole life of a woman and her family. Women are at increased risk of developing breast cancer around the globe so they must be vigilant about the health of this body part. Abnormal changes in the breasts can be due to the various reasons such as they can be due to the hormonal fluctuation, changes related to the breast development, changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding etc. All such changes are normal and experienced by women at some stages of life so it is essential for women to have adequate knowledge about the normal and abnormal breast changes so that to distinguish the changes become easier for women. Adequate knowledge about the normal and abnormal changes is essential for women to be breast aware so that they can enlighten their awareness to catch cancer at initial stage. Abnormal breast changes are many, but some of the popular changes experienced by a number of women during regular breast check are given below • Changes in the size of breasts are unusual if they are not in relation to the menstrual cycle, pregnancy or breast feeding. • Changes in the shape are abnormal as they affect the appearance so they can be diagnosed during visual inspection of the breasts. • Skin changes are abnormal as breast skin starts having dimples and wrinkles that is abnormal and breasts look different from rest of the body. • Lump formation in the breast or the armpit is abnormal, however not necessarily it is cancerous but it should not be ignored in any case because the reason of the lump should be into the knowledge before it becomes too large and to treat it by using a number of treatment options become impossible. • Nipple changes such as inversion or ulceration of the nipples is abnormal and it can be due to the breast cancer or any other abnormality of the breasts. • Fluid discharge from nipple of any color such as bloody, greenish or yellowish is unusual because breast milk is the only fluid that should come out of the nipples. • Breast pain is one of the unusual breast changes that lead to the breast cancer however this unusual change is not very common and most of the women experience it before periods. • If a woman observes any part of the breast is swollen or increased lumpiness she must consider that whether these changes are related to the periods or not if they are not in relation to the periods they must be get checked by the doctor. Breast screening is one of the most effective methods to catch cancer in older women at initial stage as most of the cancer cases are diagnosed in older women so they must get their breast screen advised by the doctor or health care provider.
