The Florida Board of Governors will slim the list of 53 applicantsto be members of the charter board of trustees at the new FloridaPolytechnic University to five in two weeks. With many members of the Board of Governors assisting, I lookforward to the comprehensive process we now undertake in order toselect and bring our proposed nominees to the board at its verynext meeting," Chair Mori Hosseini stated in a release. "Thesecharter members have a unique responsibility to work with the Boardof Governors in designing a new approach to higher education from anew perspective that emulates the polytechnic model successfulin other states and countries." The deadline to apply for the board of trustees was Friday for theschool that comes into being on July 1. The Board of Governors names five to the board of trustees, withthe governor appointing six, and the board also including onefaculty member and one student.
