America should have a policy that providesthe legal immigrant statues toforeign-born students and workers who earn college degree or advance degree in Stem fields, who study in the categories of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.Current immigration law creates “a lose-lose situation” for the immigrant and the country. The United Stateis sending away thousands of students who want to stay and contribute to our economy. We are hurting the American economy by sending off these talented graduates. They are living here as productive members of society. This immigrant policy proposal comes up every year in Congress but until now no policy is press yet. Technology and human talent is the key to success the economy. It is too hard for foreign graduates to get the visas they need to stay here and put their education to use at American companies. Most of them are return home with professional skill because of visa issue. Their visas are run out after graduate and no status to stay in U.S. Research by the Technology Policy Institute finds that over 25,000 of these graduates would stay in the United States every year if they weren't forced out. That's not a very big number compared to “diversity visa lottery” that give the permanent resident to immigrants every year. Every year we have thousands and thousands of newly graduate degree holders born who can contribute to the American economy by starting businesses, creating jobs, making discoveries, and paying taxes,so far, no agreement that the green cards will be available for the foreign students. Students has only one chance that those who wish to make American their permanent home must compete for very limited H1 B temporary visa whichmakes difficult them to change job, earn a promotion, travel abroad. Also H-1B visa denial rate is increasing and many people are waiting in line for process. Most people give up and return home. Sadly, over the past years Republicans are not willing to bring any immigrants to the country. TheDemocrats side, they don’t consider this priority action to act. Most of the countries in Europe have serviced their high-skilled visa programs in recent years. Canada and Australia have long been more welcoming. Even places like Chile and Singapore are catching up. As conditions in China and India improve, increasing numbers of gifted students from both countries are returning home with advanced degrees from U.S. Shouldn’t let them taking skills that learned at American taxpayers' expense to advance and supplement our competitors. A report by the Technology CEO Council stated that entrepreneurs are excessively founded and supported by foreign-born individuals. Another study, technology businesses started in Silicon Valley in the dot-com era, found that Chinese and Indian engineers managed nearly a quarter of the total. Still other research found that foreign innovators and entrepreneurs were behind a quarter of the engineering and technology companies launched across the United States. The world highest-achievement and the greatest corporations,Google, Intel, eBay, and Yahoo were founded in part by foreign-born individuals. That is why so obvious that allowing to stay foreign talented graduate in the US, we shouldn't be debating to consider a legal statues them. Congressrequested to replacethe "diversity visa lottery" with visas annually granting permanent residency to students with advanced U.S. degrees. Unfortunately Democrats had rejected that choice and Republicans did not want to increase the number of immigrants. In this today’s economy, instead of bring people who may or may not contribute to the country, why not we keep the people who are job creator of our country, who will bring the next Google, next Intel, next eBay, next yahoo to the country. Thosegraduates’ people are the world's smartest people who learn the finest system of higher education in the world in right here. Across the globe from young people work hard for admission to a graduate program at an American’s University. They have overcome obstacles, gained admission to a university in a faraway country, worked hard to earn their graduate degree, learn a new language and a new culture, and they want to contribute to the country that made their educational dreams come true. Foreign graduate students represent the American dream. If foreign graduate students have the legal status to stay, their educational dream comes true. They will build on their Americandreams.Definitely our country needs the high-skilled people to grow our economy. These foreign graduates could contribute greatly to our economy and create jobs for countless unemployed Americans. This is the win-win situation for both American and talented students.
