Enthusiasm is self-motivation. No outside influence can match the kind of inner boost you give to yourself. The more you have faith in yourself, the more you try to accomplish your objectives. To be able to achieve your goals, you will devote extra effort and time. But at some points, it’s hard to stay motivated even when you really care about the work you’re doing. To understand how motivation works, ask your self question. What do I desire? Both your personal task and your goals generally fall under four basic desires. These primary desires help motivate you to excel. 1. Motivation by Power Properly used, power or strength can be means of gaining lasting fulfillment and happiness. Who doesn’t want power? Power gives you a positive, secure feeling, as long as you gain it in the right way. A person with power can help bring about much good, such as influencing others in a positive way and generating prosperity that can help others, too. 2. Motivation by Wisdom To be knowledgeable is to be informed, but to be wise is to use your knowledge in an intelligent way. Since wisdom is the proper use of the truths you store in your mind, wisdom helps you make good decisions towards yourself and others. 3. Motivation by Honor To have personal honor means to be respected as a person. Nothing gives a person more self-confidence than knowing that he or she is respected by family, friends and associates. An honorable person has integrity, an attribute sorely lacking in today’s world. 4. Motivation by Wealth Nothing is wrong with wealth, as long as it is the means to an end rather than the end itself. The major drawback in desiring wealth, though, is that if it becomes your major motivation, you lag behind in other, more noble goals in life. But if gained as a result of all your hard work and kept in proper perspective along with your other goals, riches not only gives you financial security but general peace of mind. Motivation can be a tricky thing, and to keep yourself constantly motivated you need to be positive toward yourself. In short, you need to believe in yourself.
