Gibson has many powerful guitars: SG, Flying V, EDS-1275, Explorer, ES-175, and the ever popular...Les Paul. Gibson Guitar Corporation has been around since the early 1900's and was started by Orville Gibson. He innovated many of the things used to make guitars today. He invented the concept of an electric guitar in the 1930's, that was crafted in 1936. Gibson made products for the war during World War II, because there was a lack of metal and wood for other use. In 1948 Gibson hired Ted McCarty to promote the company, he was later named president in the 1950's. Around that era, the Les Paul was faced to fight the popularity of Fender's Telecaster. The Les Paul was very popular and was offered in many styles, custom, standard, special, and junior(for kids). Later in the 50's, McCarty decided Gibson guitars were too conservative. He came up with the unique shaped guitars known as the Flying V, and the Explorer. Later, double-cutaway guitars became very popular so Gibson responded with the SG(solid guitar). The Les Paul has influenced most of the rockstars you worship, and is a great item to add to a collection. Gibson produced the Tune-O-Matic bridge system, and it's own version of humbucking pickup. Gibson has always tuned to their consumer needs, literally. Gibson provides a robotic guitar that tunes itself in less than 10 seconds. And they always have a guitar for you. They have studio guitars, kids guitars, acoustics, electrics, electric/acoustics, bass guitars. They pretty much cover any request.
