There are many secrets you can learn that'll enable you to write more often, more deeply and more rewardingly. One of these is to boost your self belief and confidence as a writer. So here's your 3 step plan to raise your creative writing confidence and self belief to new levels: Step 1: What do you REALLY believe about your writing and writing ability? First, think carefully about your beliefs around your writing and your ability as a writer. Take a sheet of paper and write in the centre - "As a writer I believe I am...". Then, on lines extending out from this centre, write down as many ways of finishing this sentence as you can, both positive and negative. Maybe you want to write "a good story teller", "capable of writing in different forms and styles" as positive statements, and you may also think things like "lacking in discipline" or "restricted by my lack of experience". These are just examples, write what feels true for you and your beliefs. Be as open and honest as possible. Step 2: Gathering up your positive beliefs. Take a good look at each statement on your sheet from step 1. First of all, notice all the positive things you wrote about yourself. Take a highlighter or bright pen and circle each of these, it's important you recognise them. Then look at some of the less positive statements. Maybe like in the above example, you wrote something like: "As a writer I believe I am restricted by my experience". Turn this around to become a positive belief. For example: "As a writer I have experience in a variety of writing styles and formats". Do this for each of your statements that are not positive. Take these new positive statements, and add them to the positive ones you already came up with. Write or type out this new list clearly. This is going to be the basis for your new creative writing confidence. Step 3: Reinforce everyday. You now have your new empowering beliefs that will boost your confidence in your writing. But only if you use them right. Doing just step 1 and 2 above will in itself give you more confidence. But you don't want this to be a one-off feeling, you want to feel it all the time! The easiest way to do this is simply read out your list of positive beliefs regularly. The more you recite them, the more you will believe them. Even if you don't believe them all now. You've heard that expression "if you hear something often enough you start to believe it"? It's the same with these beliefs. "Read out loud regularly" doesn't mean read the list once a month. It means at least 3 times over, at least 3 times a day. The more the better. And the more you read them, the more easy they'll become to say and the more natural they will sound to you. Follow this 3 step plan and within days you'll notice a difference in your creative writing confidence and self belief. Use it, ride the wave and start experimenting with different writing projects. This is a fantastic way to build further on the surge of confidence you create. What are you waiting for, go to step 1 and get started! bestcustompapers rewiew
