"Scary" Effect in Adobe Photoshop

First open the adobe Photoshop and create a new document with the size of 600 widths and 400 heights. The mode has to set in RGB mode and background color will white. Open the .PAT file. If in your computer don’t have the Times New Yorker font then download and install it.

Create a layer from background. For this go to background layer - Layer from background – click OK. Then go to the Blending Option through Menu - Layer - Layer Style - Blending Options. Set the following instruction.

Inner Glow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to Linear Burn, Opacity – 26%, Noise – 0%. And color at #000000. Elements: Technique at softer, Source to Edge, Choke – 0%, Size at 70px. Quality: Contour, Range – 100%, Jitter – 0%. Now press OK to confirm it. Don’t forget, otherwise everything will be damaged.

Pattern Overlay: Pattern: Blend Mode at Normal, Opacity at 100% Pattern – rock pattern, Scale – 100% also Link with Layer. Have to confirm by Click OK.

Satin: Structure: Blend Mode at Color Burn with #000000, Opacity at 19%, Angle of 19 degree, Distance – 3px, Size – 57px, Contour – Invert. By clicking OK make sure this setting.

Color Overlay: Color: Blend Mode at Color of #324155, Opacity will be 100%. Press OK.

Gradient Overlay: Gradient: Set Blend Mode to Linear Burn, Opacity – 16%, Gradient - #000000 and #828282, Style – Linear also Align with Layer, Angle – 90 degree and scale – 143%. Then press OK.

It’s time to make our text effect at scary. Select the type tool. Font, size and shape as your own choice. After choose this, type in the center of the image which you want to write. I wrote CAR and All in Uppercase.

In this step we have to set the main theme of image. Now set as following:

Pattern Overlay: Pattern: Blend Mode at Normal, Opacity at 100% Pattern – Dark pattern, Scale – 25% also Link with Layer. Here have to confirm by Click OK.

Drop Shadow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to multiply with color #000000, Opacity – 100%, Angle at 119 degree, Distance set to 12px, spread of 1%, Size is 10%. Quality: Contour, Noise - 0% and Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow. Now press OK.

Inner Glow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to Color Burn color at #000000, Opacity – 100%, Angle – 180 degree, Distance – 0px, Choke - 0%, Size is 13%. Quality: Contour, Noise – 0%. Now press OK to confirm it.

Outer Glow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to Color Dodge, Opacity – 42%, Noise – 0%. And color at #ddebff. Elements: Technique at softer, Spread – 40%, Size at 21px. Quality: Contour, Range – 100%, Jitter – 0%. Now press OK to confirm it. Don’t forget, otherwise everything may damaged.

Inner Glow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to Color Dodge, Opacity – 64%, Noise – 0%. And color at #00ffc6. Elements: Technique at Precise, Source to Edge, Choke – 1%, Size at 10px. Quality: Contour, Range – 55%, Jitter – 0%. Now press OK.

Bevel and Emboss: Structure: Style – Inner Bevel, Technique – Smooth, Depth – 200%, Direction – Down, Size – 3px, Soften – 0%. Shading: Angles – 90 degree, Altitude at 10 degree. Highlight Mode – Color Dodge with # ffffff and Opacity – 85%, Shadow Mode also Color Dodge with # 03c3e6 and Opacity – 32%, Then press OK.

Contour: Elements: Range 50%.

Texture: Elements: Rock Pattern, Scale at 100%, Depth – 242% and Link with Layer.

Satin: Structure: Blend Mode at Color Burn with #ffffff, Opacity at 70%, Angle of 90 degree, Distance – 5px, Size – 7px, Contour – Anti – aliased. By clicking OK make sure this setting.

Color Overlay: Color: Blend Mode at Color of #6e779e, Opacity will be 29%. Press OK.

Gradient Overlay: Gradient: Set Blend Mode to Multiply, Opacity – 26%, Gradient - #000000 and #ffffff, Style – Linear also Align with Layer, Angle – (-90) degree and scale – 60%. Then press OK.

Stroke: Structure: Size – 5px, Position at center, Blend Mode at Normal, Opacity at 60%. Fill Type: Pattern use Dark Blue Pattern and Scale – 100%. Click OK.

Duplicate the text layer. And go to Menu – Layer – Duplicate Layer and save it. Again go to Menu – Layer – Layer Style – Clear Layer Style. Here I will make different style. Go to Menu – Layer – Layer Style –Layer Style – Blending Options and set the following.

Blending Options: General Blending: Blend Mode set at Normal, Opacity – 100%. Advanced Blending: Fill Opacity – 0%, Channel RGB, Knockout – None (Blend Interior Effects as group, Blend Clipped Layers as group, Transparency Shapes Layer). Blend If: Gray, This Layer – (0-255) %, Underlying Layer – (0-255) %. Click OK to save it.

Drop Shadow: Structure: Set Blend Mode to Multiply, Opacity – 66%, Angle at (-81) degree, Distance – 12px, Spread – 26%, Size 9px. Quality: Noise – 0% and Layer knocks Out Drop shadow.
