Dear friends, do you know how to landscape a stone patio in the daily life? As we know, stone patios provide an outdoor living space where you can appreciate your surroundings in the company of friends and family. Building a sandstone patio enhances your landscape and can increase the value of your home. Take the time to choose a stone and design pattern that will complement your yard's aesthetic and lay a stable foundation so your patio will last for many years. Instructions of landscaping a stone patio as follows: Firstly, use flour or landscaping paint to outline the surface area of your patio. Insert wooden stakes into the corners. Tie one string around the top of the stakes to "rope" off the area. Secondly, contact your local building department to see if your area restricts digging depth. Check with your utility departments to make sure your digging will not damage any underground wires or pipes. Thirdly, use a shovel to dig out the patio area at least 7 inches deep. Remove stones, sticks and debris from the patio site. Fourthly, flatten the soil with a compactor machine to stabilize the surface for installation. You can rent or purchase a compactor machine from a home improvement store. Fifthly, lay landscape fabric over your compacted soil to improve drainage and inhibit weeds. Spread a 4-inch layer of gravel or paver base over the landscape fabric. Use the back of a shovel or hoe for an even, flat spread. Use the compactor machine to stabilize and flatten the base. Sixthly, use a hoe to spread a 1-inch layer of sand over the base. Moisten and compact the sand so it is strong enough to support the stone patio. Seventhly, set the cobblestone or pavers in the sand according to your chosen pattern. Tap each stone with a rubber mallet to set it firmly in the sand. Use a level to ensure the stones are even. Eighthly, place every stone on your patio surface. Edge the patio with metal to prevent the stones from shifting. Ninthly, brush sand over the surface of the patio, working it into the crevices between cubic stones. Moisten the sand so it hardens to the stones. Add sand until the crevices are filled and brush away the excess. Tips & Warnings Wear ear plugs to protect your ears when using the loud compactor machine. Refer to the supplier or manufacturer's instructions to see if your stones need to be sealed or if they are naturally weather resistant. Finally, let me have a conclusion. As a renowned business E-platform of promoting stone industry, we have been continuously merging all kinds of resources together, in which regard not only has it realized the strategic combination of Stones Yellow Pages and overseas famous stone magazines, but also its good cooperation with overseas stone associations and organizations.
