Ferco Seating Systems, a UK-based, international designer and manufacturer of auditorium, education and stadium seating, has delivered two fantastic new projects to a pair of very different UK cinemas: the Barbican Cinema, London and Crosby Plaza Cinema in Crosby, Merseyside. London’s famed Barbican facility added two new cinemas in November 2012; the first major additions to the arts centre since it opened in the early 80s. The two new screens on Beech Street are equipped with full digital projection and audio equipment (including 3-D), as well as 35mm and 16mm film projection. Between them they seat 156 guests. Previously, the facility had relied upon refurbished second hand seats from the 1930’s, but organisers approached Ferco to provide a contemporary replacement which brought the facility into the present.
