What is healing? Healing can mean different things to different people. Those who have gone through disease and illness can experience healing in regards to their physical health, such as a bedridden person learning to walk once again. People who went through times of great sadness and grief will experience a different kind of healing, through the use of mediation, counseling, or even through the passage of time. Others may undergo spiritual healing and cleansing, in finding faith from those who previously threw it away. Healing is a powerful force that mends all things that are broken or tries to get back things to the way they were. As infirmities can come in many ways-illness, disease, trauma, crisis, and others-healing can also take on many forms. Healing can come in the use of medication, or in roots and plants, as is the case in herbal healing. Tai chi and yoga can also be a form of meditational, energy healing, in which the body works to be one with the spirit. Counseling is another great healing tool, where people can unload their worries and grievances to those they feel can help them through their crises. Mental health patients have counselors to help them get back to the right track, while churches have priests and pastors to help the lost find their way. While there are many forms of healing, the most remarkable and the most powerful are those that are, in fact, the simplest of all. A warm hello. A tender smile. A sympathetic hug or pat on the back. An understanding shoulder to cry on. These are mere gestures that could mean the world for a friend or family currently in the process of pain, currently being inflicted with wounds. What is healing? Healing can mean so many things to so many people. But the simplest answer would have to be, that Healing is something that connects people with themselves, their loved ones, their faith Meditation, and finding peace in everything in this world.
