Jaipur is one of the most densely populated cities in northern India. Beside of historic significance Jaipur is also rich in its spiritual significance. The city was ruled by Maurya Empire (322 BC–185 BC), and later it was ruled Kushan Empire (1st to 3rd centuries). The first written evidence in modern history of Jaipur can be found in the book written by Chinese traveller, Huan Tsang. Huan Tsang had visited to India during the reign of the great king Harshvardhan. In account of describing his empire, Huan Tsang had mentioned Jaipur as 'Mo-yu-lo' in his book. According to the Hindus Jaipur is one of the seven origins at Gomukh. The city has occupied a huge area of Indo-Gangetic plain of north India. This city is the heart of Rajasthan. Thousands of pilgrimages come to Jaipur every year to take a ritual bath in the holy river Ganges in order to wash away sins ant to collect vertue for the life after death. The main attraction to the pilgrimages is the ghat located at Har Ki Pauri. This ghat is considered as the most sacred ghat of Jaipur. The other big attraction of the city is kumbh mela which is one of the biggest religious ceremonies of the country. The fair takes place in every three years and millions of Hindus from all over the country takes place to celebrate the fair. The weather of Jaipur remains clear almost through the entire year. The weather is a little bit humid due to the monsoon air coming from the south eastern side of the country. The city surrounded by the small hills at the foot of Himalaya. The city itself and the small hill stations surrounding and it is famous for the natural beauty. A lot of tourist spots have been developed here due to the comfortable weather and the scenic beauty of the city and the surroundings. A lot of luxury and ordinary resorts and hotels have been constructed in the city and in the nearby places for the visitors. There also are a number of 5 star and 3 star resorts at hari ki pauri ghat. The river side resorts have great window views. The luxury resorts in Jaipur have many facilities such as central air conditioning system, hot water swimming pool, massage parlor, beauty parlor, gym and spa. The charges for those facilities are excluded from the per day room charge in those resorts. The cost varies from resort to resort and according to the carpet area of the rooms. Car services are also available at those resorts. All kind of hotels or resorts of low price (1300Rs to 4500Rs/night) and of high price (5000Rs to 10500Rs/night) are available in Jaipur.
