Till very recently, plastic surgeries used to be based on the same methods, until the invention of artificial substances that prevented the need for removing other body parts. Plastic surgeries are done on a number of places in the body. Today, millions of plastic surgeries are carried out all over the world, with the US being the leader in terms of numbers. Most common types of plastic surgery The most common plastic surgeries carried out in the US today are for the abdomen, or what is called tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, penile liposuction, mammoplasties of various kinds such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast firming, buttock lift and chemical peel, a procedure in which scars from pimples and a few ailments are removed. Not cosmetic all the time Plastic surgery could also be done for a number of medical reasons. Burns and surgeries done to correct some kind of congenital abnormalities are popular varieties of plastic surgeries of this nature. Weigh all factors before taking a decision A plastic surgery should be a well-informed, well thought-out choice. It should never be undergone without weighing the pros and cons. All procedures have one or another kind of undesirable side effect. In more than a few isolated cases, plastic surgeries have resulted in the patient’s death.
