India health care industry is unpredictably vast and was expected to touch USD 75 billion by the end of year 2012. Being such a vast division, it presents huge opportunities of growth. Reason why Indian healthcare industry has bloomed is because people of India have become more health conscious with the passing time and anticipates more health information to keep them vigorous and healthy. Not just the regular information on health, what they also expect is the better health amenities and facilities. To meet these ever-increasing demands, India Health Care industry will require around USD 50 billion annually. However, if we analyze more intimately, we will notice that the health care system is non-existent in rural parts of India. Lack of infrastructure, proper labour, health care facilities etc. have kept villages and other rural parts deprived from getting full advantage of health care system of India. There is an immediate need of investing a good amount of time as well as money in this area, which is lagging behind. It is not only the rural part of India that has failed to witness growth but it is public health care services too, which has lacked the proper attention of the authorities. It is overburdened in the absence of proper technological support. With the entry of some private companies, no doubt, it has improved to some extent, but there is a lot more still to be achieved. With the rise in awareness about health care benefits, people have become more health conscious and hanker for even better health tips and techniques and health information to keep them in shape. They have inclined towards getting health insurance also, as they know that in this hectic and dwindling lifestyle, they can come in the grip of some serious health exposure anytime. Thus, the sector of health insurance has ripened very swiftly and has gained immense popularity. Indian insurance companies as well as foreign insurance companies have seen the potential of this sector and collaborated with Indian companies. This has resulted in the betterment of health care sector but again, the rural part of India does not have much of benefit from this. Other parts of the India health care system like Ayurvedic and Homeopathic treatment are gaining prominence not in India but abroad. More and more people coming to India for treatment, apart from getting the contemporary method of health care, they do not hesitate to go for unconventional methods of treatments. Many have claimed benefits from them with minimum or absolutely no benefits since these treatment methods involve any use of hazardous chemicals. There is no denying the fact that in the last two decades India health care industry has come a long way but for this industry, there is a long way, which is yet to be covered. If, the grants coming from India are used wisely and in channelized mode, we can expect a huge turnaround in this sector in some years to come. It is expected to grow exponentially if the funds are used properly without any political intervention. Healthy India endeavors to advance consciousness of disease prevention opportunities, encourage earlier detection and treatment of chronic diseases, and foster healthy living through information and resources on Healthy Lifestyle. The aim is to enable citizens of India and around the world to achieve wellbeing of mind and body.
