One of the best ways you can improve your copywriting abilities is to use benefit bullets. Here's why. In most cases, people that do copywriting or write content seldom use benefit bullets in a proper fashion. Most people will look at bullets and think that it is very easy, especially when a professional has already done it. If you cannot do this, no one will blame you. Writing these takes a bit of skill. Learning how to write benefit bullets is difficult. You must first know the purpose of them before you can write them proficiently. Easier said than done, so here are three powerful tips for creating bullets that stop them cold.}

Benefit bullets serve several very important purposes in sales and marketing copy. One of the most important duties is to really hit the emotions of the reader. Like a net cast at sea, the bullet points serve to press certain hot buttons, tapping into their emotions, hoping to reel them in. You really don't know how your bullet points will affect certain people - you never do! If they do purchase something from you, it is usually because a certain emotion was tapped, motivating them to pull out their credit card and buy what you have to offer. But there will be differences for many in your audience. The effect you're looking for is to motivate them to make the purchase, without them thinking you are going too far. The sales page that you create should be proportionately broken up with your benefit bullets. You have probably heard about "white space" in copy and content. That is just to reduce the "black wall of text" effect which is a real killer in terms of reader interest. It does not matter how simple and easy to understand the content. As you probably remember, people scan sales pages - they don't read them. So if they see too much text, they automatically want to leave. Even if you have great content, people will leave - that's how they work. People leave to another site if they think that it's too hard to read. Bullets in copy plus shorter paragraphs of different lengths will help with reader interest.

Just about everybody has used a world processor, and included are the various font effects like making something bold. There are other devices you can buy that will make your fonts stand out even more, though. All I wanted to do is give you some ideas for making your trigger phrases and benefit bullets capture attention. We have talked a little about trigger phrases, but this is mainly about bullets and making them more visible. There are many places in copy for using them; however, you seriously want to never over-do it.

Benefit bullets are critical for sales copy, and they can be used in regular content, too. You will use them to play to the emotions of people because that is how things are sold. Write your bullets so they create powerful pictures in the mind of the reader, and then you will be inside the reader's head. So work on the emotions while you are conveying the benefits.
