Make Great Golf Contact and Hit Longer Golf Drives by Mastering the Impact Position

Click here to visit Age Defying Golf

Within our office, we find one swing flaw that occurs over, and over, and over, and over again. It is the left wrist break down or "cupping" the left wrist.

The accurate position here at address is with your left wrist to become completely level and fronting your target and also your right wrist to be "cupped," or bowed. This dramatically increases the chances that you would create crisp and consistent contact with the ball.

Left Wrist Breakdown at golf impact positionOn the other hand, left wrist break down also known as flipping the club creates poor connection along with a losing of distance. Many golfers "flip" through their wrists with an attempt to assist the ball into the air. But the game of golf is a game of opposites as a consequence when you want the ball to go up, you need to hit downward on the golf ball.

Keeping a flat left wrist allows for a descending impact through the golf ball. Additionally. investigation has revealed that possessing a flat left wrist results in a much faster swing velocity and the reasons are located in physics ... but, I would not bore you talking about that.

If the player flicks his wrist at the golf ball the left arm is likely to slow down so as to let the wrists to pivot so the clubface progresses in front of the hands.

Not only does such result in substandard contact, but a slower moving club through the impact point.

Most golfers that I evaluate more than the age of FIFTY have this particular problem.
You could tell through the results of your golf swing if your wrists are simply breaking down. Commonly, if you possess this particular fault your ball connection is poor and maybe you do not take a proper divot AFTER striking the golf ball.
This type of golfer blades the ball a good deal then typically takes a divot PRIOR TO striking the ball, a fat golf shot.
Fitness Fixes
HALLELUJAH !! You do not necessarily have to exercise or even stretch to remedy the swing fault! Unwind down in the coach and review the remainder.

Pro Fixes
9 O'Clock to 3 O'Clock Acceleration Drill

caption id="attachment_681" align="aligncenter" width="345"]Set up to the ball with 75% of your weight on your left leg. Set up to the ball with 75% of your weight on your left leg.[/caption]

Stand up to the ball with 75 % of your weight upon your left leg.

    1. Start by grasping the golf club around the 9 o'clock position by having
    your wrists fully cocked ul)
      2. Right from here, STRONGLY accelerate DOWNWARD through the ball then end at the 3 o'clock position.

Your Golf Ball ought to be released fast and also low ... a punch shot. You must additionally emphasize producing a divot following you struck the ball

    Training Aid Fixes
Regarding the three fixes, I think training aids have the most to offer in relevance to developing your left wrist placement during impact. My favourite is simply the Smash Bag.

The Smash Bag is the same as the Impact Bag yet is much more economical. you're welcome.

The following is ways you should utilize the Smash Bag in order to improve your impact position.

[caption id="attachment_687" align="alignright" width="150"]Fill bag with towels...not too tight! Fill bag with towels...not too tight![/caption]

Stuff bag with towels ... not too tight.

Arrange the Smash Bag on the same spot you might typically put the golf ball. Make your usual swing, EXCEPT, swing at 1/2 your usual swing.

Give the bag a good whack!

Evaluate so as to make certain that at the impact position:.

You smack the bag evenly using the face of the golf club

Your left wrist is flat along with your right wrist is cupped, or angled.

My last piece of help concerning using the Smash Bag is to NOT over do this. Padraig Harrington became carried away by using the Impact Bag a few yrs in the past and turned out needing to sit a few tournaments as a result of a wrist injury.

Presently there are several other training aids to use to improve your impact position. Presently there is a Tac-Tic trainer that other instructors have suggested however, I prefer the Smash Bag much better.

(PS. In case you do not choose to shell out the cash, you can easily load a nylon pack full of hand towels and that will work just great).

    Many thanks for browsing through!
