You can also benefit from learning the language of the country you choose to teach in. When you are teaching English abroad, you get all the advantages of a native to that land. You are living there, teaching there, and are considered to be part of the local community. You will shop with the local people, become friends with families and individuals, and essentially have a life that is intertwined with the culture. You will learn their ways, customs, traditions, and more. All those things make the experience not only worth it in travel and money, but also because of the amount of personal development that you gain. Not to mention that if you add all your international expertise to your resume/ CV, you are better qualified for many jobs because of your additional skill set that most people do not have.
