The advent of the Smartphones, iPads, Tablet PCs and similar other multi-featured devices have taken the world by storm. People have made a quick shift from the boring cellular phone devices to the newer and feature-loaded devices. Moreover, with the advancement of technology, these devices have become much cheaper than the devices that were available in the past. However, the introduction of these smart devices have pushed the conventional mobile phone devices into the dark, and companies that were once considered to be giants of the India mobile phone market have now been almost forgotten. In the days gone by, there were a large number of companies that produced excellent quality mobile phones that were durable, as well as reliable. If a person was to travel back by a few years, he or she would be able to notice that there were brands like Nokia, HTC, Motorola, and LG, which developed some of the most reliable and best phones. These devices were meant for the purpose behind their invention, which was to make and receive calls, and send and receive SMSs. Nevertheless, a few devices also had a number of other features to offer, which included the services of a calculator, a convertor, a few games and similar other common features. However, with the introduction of the Smartphones, these mobile devices have taken over the functionalities of a number of other devices. For example, features like playing of music, playing of videos, surfing of the internet, playing a number of games ever the internet, as well as outside the internet, and many others have been incorporated into the present generation of Smartphones. This has propelled the use of these devices for their multiple functions. Several times, it has been noticed that a Smartphone device is used for all other reasons, but not for making or taking calls. Now, some of the leading companies that have been able to develop higher stakes in the Indian Smartphone market are Samsung, Blackberry, LG, Apple, and others. This has pushed the popular and trusted brands of the past such as Nokia and HTC into the dark territories of the Indian market for cellular devices. Even though, Nokia and HTC have been able to come out with a range of Smartphones, with Nokia adopting the Window OS for Phones and HTC operating on the Android operating systems, they have been a relatively late entrant into the market. Hence, they have not yet been able to claim the popularity that the other brands have been able to acquire. However, brighter days are around the corner for these brands, and the times for these devices are certainly looking upwards. These two brands have also released a few Smartphones in the market, which have appeared promising, and have raised the hopes of these companies. The Smartphones launched by these companies have offered a number of features and specifications, which have attracted the imagination of the Indian people. However, it certainly seems that the days of the good old cellular phones are over!
