The immigration, residency and work permits in Lithuania allow any European Union Citizen to stay free in the Republic for a period up to 3 months within half a year. Also, the immigration policy states that the local migration policy can’t issue the temporary residence permit visa for a period more than 5 years. For the employment purpose the labour exchange is required to approve a positive decision as conclusion and then issue the work permit to the intending migrant. The processing of the application for work permit may take time of 1 or 2 months. But one the application is approved the work permit will remain valid for a period of 2 years. The state fee is 87 EUR for document administration, 30 EUR for formalizing a temporary residence permit and 60 EUR for issuance of the visa. The Republic of Lithuania approves visa in two forms i.e. Schengen visa and National visa. The Schengen visa remains valid in nine of the states i.e. Lithuania, Estonia, Malta, Slovakia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. With effect from 21st December 2007 the nine states have abolished the geographical checks on the borders. The visas are being issued at the consular office or the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Lithuania. The immigrants need to submit the following documents in order to obtain a visa:- - A valid travel document
- Completely filled application form for Shengen visa
- One passport size photograph that also reflects the age of the immigrant
- The payment receipt of 60 EUR on Consular fee
- A health insurance document by the insurance company for a minimum of $50,000 USD
