Make sure that before you take pictures of your child that you have all the equipment with you. Ensure that you have collected in one place and create your own props if you use them. Props to help keep the younger ones entertained, especially if your favorite toy or toy ever seen before. Make sure that you have tested the camera settings and are ready to start shooting, or are at least very close, before you get your child into a position to be photographed. While older children can have the patience to sit for a few minutes while you prepare the younger general will, and all your little corner of the interest will be lost before you even start if you're going to be more busy with the technical camera settings as you keep them entertained. Toddlers Babies are wonderful pictures. Put them in a nice light and play with them. This will keep them interested at the time, and they will reward you with wonderful facial expressions, completely unaware of the camera. But be aware, they have very short attention spans and move fast, so if you do not have to keep them entertained, they will be off. Picking them up on the subject and put them back where you want them, when someone apparently catch your attention can lead to disastrous consequences, and you just might be better to try to solve this new place you find yourself in. From about the age of 3, the photograph becomes a little more difficult, but can be very rewarding. Especially if you're planning to have a photo shoot for the front door. You need to find activities to keep them entertained, such as painting, dressing up, blowing bubbles, and so I find it much easier to let this age group and make the door with camera in hand. Try and play games with your child, fill your world, and you will be rewarded. Play games such as peek-a-boo behind the tree, or go on adventures to Africa from your backyard or local park.
