Tourism Development Strategy is a document containing a set of long-term goals and objectives. Creating a Tourism Development Strategy is based on planning activities and can boost, give direction and harmonize tourism development of the country or region. Currently, tourism is considered to be one of the most forward-looking, fastest growing and profitable sectors of the economy. There are a lot of new jobs in a tourism field as well. Many sectors of the economy and the types of activities are connected with tourism such as agriculture, transport, sport and culture. Tourism Development Strategy helps to bring together the efforts of many entities to achieve its objectives. Common action in the field of tourism becomes more effective, coordinated actions produce better results. The aim of the strategy is to formulate priorities, which are planes of strategic actions. On the basis of established strategic main objectives are then implemented in the next few years. The main task of a Tourism Development Strategy is to identify opportunities and strengths of the region or country in the field of tourism. This allows to discover new, previously untapped opportunities and trends. The strategy eliminates the weaknesses and avoid threats that could have a negative impact on the number of tourist arrivals and level of their satisfaction. The Tourism Development Strategy does not differentiate between regions and areas with greater or lesser abilities and strengths it also does not list the specific forms of tourism. This is a result of the assumption that the tourist attractiveness of the region depends not only on natural or cultural but also on the activity of local communities. It is this activity of the people living in the area or in the country what affects the formation and development of tourism. The basis for building a Tourism Development Strategy should be to examine the current situation in the field of tourism. Frequently this is done through research, surveys, statistics, analysis and collaboration with experts. Based on the analysis of the current situation should arise detailed description of the desired situation that allows to maximize the benefits from the development of the tourism industry. To this end, as mentioned a tourism development policy objectives should be built. Implementation of the objectives must be monitored on an ongoing basis, should be developed into reports that help detect any errors or if you need to modify some actions to achieve the highest level of the project. An effective strategy for tourism development should allow the harmonious development of tourism in the region or the country as well as to organize and give direction to the problematic directions of action to increase the competitiveness of the region or areal in the country or worldwide.
