Starting an article Marketing campaign is much more than writing a few articles, inputting some links and waiting for traffic. Too many newbies get started with article marketing without really understanding some of the most effective ways to use this marketing technique. If you are thinking of launching a campaign or just improve the response for one you have started, try these quick tips. 1. Make Your Articles Easy To Scan People are busy, they want to be able to decide quickly if your article is worth reading or not. To help them along you need to make your article easy to scan. One great way to do this is with bullet points or numbering techniques. First, identify the key points within your article and then break them out into subheadings, bullet points, or numbers. Keep each point on target within each area. Make these subheadings or bullet points stand out by bolding them, underlining, or indenting them within the article. When taken as a whole, the subheadings should be a sort of outline for the article. This makes it very easy to scan. 2. Choose A Killer Headline Newspapers have always recognized the power of the headline and have spent a lot of time perfecting it. You should do the same. Perfecting the catchy headline is what will get your article chosen over dozen similar articles with the same content. Take the time to do your research on Headline creation and what appeals to the majority of people. There is a whole science behind this and the more you understand it, the better your results will be. Try a search in your favorite search engine for "Killer Headlines", "How to write effective headlines", or something similar. There is a load of free information you can find about perfecting this technique. 3. Make Better Use Of The Resource Box Too many people use the resource box to fortify their ego when they should be using it more effectively to promote their site. Instead of using the resource box for just your name do this. Take the last 1-2 sentences of your article and put them in the resource box. Be sure your anchor text and links are somewhere within those two sentences. The critical piece here is to insure that the last paragraph of your article does not finalize your thought and that the reader has to go to the resource box to obtain the 'end' of the article. This ensures they read further into the resource box (where your link is). You can put a very short bio below that as some article submission sites require your author name to be somewhere within the resource box. Put an additional link to your site here somewhere as well. 4. Leverage Your Articles Whether you write your articles yourself or pay good money to have quality articles done for you, they are a valuable asset and you should make sure you get the most bang for your buck from each one. There are a few ways to do this which takes very little additional work on your end. The first is to do one quick rewrite of the article (or pay someone to do it) and use that to submit to at least 10 more article directories. Don't use the same article as you do for the main directory, create a rewrite. You can also make use of the RSS feed to your article page. Every author page has one and you can take this feed and submit it to RSS directories. Just look for the little red or orange RSS symbol on your public profile. You should also learn how to convert your articles to video so that you can take advantage of sites such as YouTube. custom dissertation
