Sunglasses are the epitome of style statement. A pair of sunglasses hide the eyes, a most important form of communication, giving women feminine mystique, and cloaking men with cool. On the streets, they enable a sort of personal-space privacy; on holiday, they suggest privilege and pleasure. From sleek-styled girly-chic to a retro-Italian male signature, the eyes can have it all. High-styled sunglasses can be purchased on line with a click, but there are some important points to consider. First of all, sunglasses are really about eye protection. Here's why. UV sunlight is as damaging to vision as it is to skin. After years of sun exposure, skin becomes wrinkled and leathery; prone to dark spotting and skin cancers. The eyes are no different. Sun exposure causes the clear lens of the eye to cloud into cataracts. Vision becomes that of peering out of a dirty window. Prolonged sun exposure, particularly reflected exposure from water or snow, risks sunburning the corneas of the eyes. This strong, reflected light encourages the development of cataracts and macular degeneration; some serious and chronic vision handicaps of aging. Children's sunglasses should be carefully considered. The non-specific label of 'blocks harmful UV' is not the generic title you are looking for. Gucci Sunglasses will block 99-100% UV light and say so on the label. This percentage of UV block should be evident on both adult and children's sunglasses purchased online. Sunglasses should have a larger lens and fit close to the eyes. Be aware that the lens and frame need to block UV light. The proper label for UV protection cannot really be effective if the lens is too distant from the eye, or the glasses allow UV light into the eye via the sides of a diminished frame. The glasses style should be proportionate to the face. Small, medium and large Gucci Sunglasses frames are available. An oval face can generally wear any style of glasses. Round lenses are more flattering to square faces, and rectangular lenses work well for those with round faces. A triangular face, with it's wide forehead and narrow chin, is flattered with oval or cat-eye frames. Colored frames are hot, but complexion needs to be considered. A touch of rose or amber brings color to a pale face. Those dark or tortoiseshell frames will give a stark appearance. Dark, Asian or Hispanic complexions look great in silver, gold or clear, but that black you considered can be a bit much. Black complexions can go stunning in all metallic. You can grab the black frames, but be wary. They can look over-the-top terrific or awful. Sunglasses frames should work with hair styles, as well. For instance, wavy hair looks best with delicate, translucent frames. If the hair is very curly, try a smaller frame, but keep in mind the size of lenses necessary for good UV protection. Short hair is accentuated with a geometric or round glasses frame. If the hair is long, it's time to experiment. Put the hair up, and try on glasses. Then, try the hair in a long tresses style, and see if the frames still work for you.
