Lloret de Mar is one of the most popular resorts in Spain, and is seen by many as the ideal destination for a holiday that includes sun, sea and sand. In fact, for a relaxed beach holiday in Spain you can’t do much better than Lloret de Mar. Barcelona transfers are the main way that people get to the resort after arriving by plane, so once you have arrived, here are some of the best beaches to visit. 1. Canyelles Beach Canyelles Beach is located four kilometres away from Lloret de Mar. Barcelona transfers to the resort will usually leave you at your hotel, and from there you will be able to arrange transport to this excellent beach. One way to get to the beach is on the bus, but the best way to reach it is to take a boat. You will find a beach bar serving food and drink when you arrive, as well as sun beds, water sports and excellent fine sand. It is smaller than many other beaches, but just as good, and you can even stay in the campsite nearby if you want to. 2. Santa Cristina Santa Cristina is located about 3.5 kilometres from the town, and is another of the best beaches to visit here. It is in a very sheltered bay surrounded by forest, and there is a nearby chapel with lovely views of the coast. Again, you can reach it by boat, and you should find that it is not too crowded because it is more secluded than the other stretches of sand, giving it a private feel. 3. Fenals Beach This is one of the largest in the area, and it tends to get quite busy in peak season – so be warned! You will find many bars and other facilities here, as well as some excellent restaurants. There are even lifeguards on duty in the summer months, as well as a first aid centre and pedalo boats to rent. The rocky areas at the ends of the beach are also ideal for snorkelling. 4. Platja de Lloret This is the main beach in Lloret de Mar. Barcelona transfers to the resort will leave you quite near to this beach as it is very central. As you would expect, there are lots of facilities but, again, it does get very busy. You will be able to hire a jet ski, go water skiing and even have a go at parasailing if you want. There is a great atmosphere, especially during the peak season, and at night you will find that numerous clubs keep the crowds happy until the early hours. 5. Cala Morisca This natural and peaceful space is a complete contrast to Platja de Lloret. It is a bit trickier to get to because you have to walk along a trail, but it is worthwhile making the effort - you will find no buildings and few other people sharing it. Sand is replaced by pebbles here and you will find it very peaceful (the snorkelling is excellent too). Have a Relaxing Time These are just a few of the excellent beaches that you will find in Lloret de Mar.
