India’s biggest and Asia’s largest Lulu Shopping Mall recently inaugurated by the chief minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy in Kochi. Lulu Group, UAE is the developer of the mall and owner is M.A. Yousuf Ali (businessman in EMKE Group, UAE). With the investment of INR 1600 Crore, the mall is taken the space of 2.5m sq. ft. and the area is across 17 Acres over three levels. The mall is constructed with 16 pairs of escalators, elevators, travelators with nine theaters with the parking space of over 3000 cars. Kerala’s first restaurant of McDonald is about to open very soon, as per media reports. In addition, the mall has entertainment zones spread across 22000 sq. ft. along with Ice rink of 5000 sq. ft. In the inauguration ceremony of the mall, the VIP guests were present are Indian Overseas Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, V.S. Facilities in the mall Entrance 1.Lulu Hypermarket: Spread at the area of about 278,000 sq. ft. on the ground floor, frozen fish, fruits and vegetables, canned food, hot food, bakery etc. are available here. 2.Lulu Departmental Store: Spread over 145,000 square feet on the first floor, the non-food items available here such as electronic items, garments, luggage, footwear, cosmetics and so on. 3.International home furnishing store (533,000 sq ft) and Gross leasable retail space (213,000 sq ft) are also expected to be opened. Food Court 1.A fine dining restaurant (48000 sq. ft) and a coffee shop (19000 sq. ft.) on the second floor. 2.The major center of attraction and the most awaited largest Food Court will serve thousands of mouth-watering cuisines to about 3500 people within the service of about 18 kitchens. 3.On the third floor, you can enjoy terrace dining on the three fine dining restaurants. Entertainment 1.The 81000 sq. ft. amusement area entertains with computer gaming zone, indoor thrill games and bowling on the third floor. 2.A multiplex of nine PVR theaters is located on the fifth floor which is spread across 580,000 sq. ft. Marriot Five Star Hotel A major highlight of most tourists and shoppers, Marriot Hotel will be made on the adjacent of Lulu Mall owned by JW Marriot. The Executive Suite and royal suite will be offered in 420 rooms and the hotel staff will serve guests with world-class accommodations including swimming pool, multi-cuisine restaurant, coffee shop, club facilities and spa.
