Bharat Chetri is an India hockey player who was the Goal Keeper and captain of India team. Chetri made his first debut in 2001was played in Prime Minister's Gold Cup Tournament in Bangladesh, Dhaka. For four nation Super Series he got selected as the captain of Indian hockey team in 2011 and also he was positioned as an Indian captain in Australia International Tournament. In 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, he was the captain and Indian team won the bronze medal. Sandeep Singh and Chetri were rejected because of poor performance in Olympic games. In 1997 Junior Nationals, he was adjudged as a best goalkeeper. He also played in lot of tournaments for India are: Junior Asia Cup and Pozan Junior Challenge in the year 2000, Akher EI Yom Cup and Samaranch Cup in 2001. His team won the medals in all of this mentioned tournaments. He also played in Mini World Cup in 2005 and Champions Trophy was held in Chennai in the same year. Indian Hockey announced on 2013, the dynamic players Sardar Singh and Ritu Rani selected for the AHF (Asian Hockey Federation) player of the year award for 2011. In 2013 Delhi Men's Hero Hockey World League Round 2 tournament India won the series over Bangladesh with 5 -1 goal points. Bharat Chetri profile was good before Olympics in 2007 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup match. Sardar Singh charges as the captain of the Indian Hockey team and he also adjudged as player of the tournament and receiving the cash prize of INR 2 lakh by Hero for his wonderful performance and VR Raghunath bagged the top goal scorer prize and receiving cash amount of Rs.1 lakh. In Hockey India League event, Bharat was selected and brought by Punjab Warriors team for the amount of USD 19,000 and his base price for HIL auction USD 18,500. Bharat Chetri was sold at the second round of auction. The International Hockey Federation announced that 6 nations are selected for the Hockey World Cups in 2018 includes India, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Belgium. In 2013 22nd Sultan Azlan Shah Cup event was held in Malaysia, Indian team lost the match against New Zealand. India played total 4 matches and won 1 match and scored 3 points. The upcoming events are Women's European Tour starts from April 11th to 30th April, 2013 in England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland and European International Tour Junior Women starts from April 17th to May 1st, 2013 in Europe.
