This word of faith article will discuss why Christians oppose the word of faith message. Jesus said that those that are not against me are for me. You cannot be against God and for Him at the same time. It is plain to see that when studying the scriptures under the direction of the Holy Spirit that word of faith is God's plan for man. It takes the word of faith to receive eternal life. It takes the word of faith to come before God. The same word of faith that opened the door to eternal life has freely given us all things. The Word of God Is Seed First, those that oppose the word of faith message do not understand that the word of God is seed and that any thing that God gives man is given in the form of a seed. Jesus told His disciples that unless you understand seed time and harvest you cannot understand the kingdom of God. They Become Offended Second, those that oppose word of faith are offended. Jesus said that blessed is the man that is not offend in me. Satan will come and try to take away the seed that is sown in the hearts of men. Those that are offended have heard word of faith. The devil came and caused them to be offended because they did not protect the seed and nurture the seed to bring forth fruit in their hearts. They have reasoned in their hearts instead of accepting the matter in their hearts simply because God said it. Moved By What They See Third, those that oppose word of faith do exactly the opposite of what word of faith says, they base their belief on what they see and not what they believe. They heard about someone that said that they were in faith and died. They assumed that person was in faith from man's words not God's words. They make man's word final authority in their life and not God's words. They make God out to be a liar. God said that you can have whatsoever you say. They say, "It Ain't So God". Led By A Critical Spirit Forth, those that oppose word of faith are led by a critical spirit. People accused Jesus of casting out devils by the power of the devil. His reply was how can Satan cast out Satan. A kingdom divided against itself will fall. God does not oppose himself. These people are always learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth. Not Listening To The Holy Spirit Fifth, those that oppose word of faith are not listening to the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He would send the Spirit of truth, which is the Holy Spirit, and that He would guide us into all truth. Jesus said, He will take of mine and show it unto you. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. In order to be free, people must listen to the Holy Spirit and He will NEVER speak against the word of faith. Some Christians have abused the word of faith message through a lack of understanding of it, and it did not work for them because it was misused and they became offended. Nevertheless, word of faith does work for those who understand it and how it is to be used. If fact, those who do not speak words of faith have no choice but to speak words of fear, and they have in their lives what words of fear bring, which is the opposite of what God wills for them.
